The 2025 Icicle Refrozen Balloon Meet will take place
on Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th January 2025
at Donnington Grove Hotel & Country Club, Newbury.
The meet as always remains informal, un-sponsored and open to all balloonists.
The annual Icicle Hot Air Balloon Meet, is the longest, continually-running* balloon meet in the world.
The meet was first hosted in 1973 by David Liddiard at his Bradfords Farm, Marsh Benham and then for the next 21 years by his son, James at Warren Farm, Savernake, near Marlborough. In 2014 however the meet moved to a new flying venue at Marlborough Common, and in 2015 to Folly Dog Leg, Hungerford.
For the first 43 years the event was organised by the Dante Balloon Group.
Since 2016, the event has been run by the 3-4-40 Region BBAC and is now hosted at Donnington Grove Hotel and Golf Club near Newbury. *We even managed to hold a version of our event in 2021, when the rest of the world was locked down.
